It has been one year since the researchers at the MACTO Center for Monster, Ghost, and Doll Research captured a Mognofaygulas (Moggie) monster. "Chester," as the research team calls him (so named because he was captured under a chest of drawers - or "chester drawers," as our lead researcher believes them to be called), has faired well in captivity. Chester has been tagged and will be released onto the MACTO Sanctuary for Dangerous Creatures at midnight tonight.
As you know, Mognofaygulas monsters are well-known sock thiefs, preferring non-white socks, and attempting to collect one of each color, rather than matching sets. Moggies tend to dwell in closets because they love the smell of shoes, but venture out at night looking for socks left laying around the house. While rarely seen by humans, there have been 5 sightings in the last 4 years across North America. It was one of these sightings that led the MACTO researchers to set the trap that snared Chester.
While the researchers claim to have become fond of Chester, it should be noted that he is a hideous and vicious little creature who will stop at nothing to complete his sock-finding mission. Accurate observation has been difficult, as Chester appears to be able to camouflage his skin to match the flooring he is on when he is hit by light. We have been able to watch his actions via nighttime infrared cameras, but are still uncertain what color he actually is (since the nighttime cameras make him look green).
